The Trust

The Reid Hall is a registered charity under the name of The Wartling Village Hall Trust. The charity registration number is 803060. Its charitable objectives are registered as

“A VILLAGE HALL FOR THE USE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF WARTLING WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF POLITICAL RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, INCLUDING USE FOR MEETINGS, LECTURES AND CLASSES, AND FOR OTHER FORMS OF RECREATION AND LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECTS OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS.”

The Trust is governed by a Conveyance and Trust Deed dated 23rd April 1990, between William John Reid and the Parish Council of Wartling. View document

The committee was originally composed of 7 elected Trustees and two co-opted members (non-voting) representing the Wartling Parish Council and Wartling Parochial Church Council

The present committee members are:

Derek Willis – Chairman

Rowena Gittoes – Vice Chairman

William Reid – Treasurer

Sara Parker – Secretary

The PCC Representative has not been appointed

The booking clerk and the hall cleaner work on a self-employed basis.

Much of the running of the hall is carried out by the Trustees and other members of the Parish on a voluntary basis. New volunteers are always welcome, please get in touch if we would like to help.
